Creating Auxiliary Grid

An auxiliary grid is only visible in EPLAN Harness proD Library, not in EPLAN Harness proD Studio, and it is used mainly for placing objects.

  1. Click the Create auxiliary grid button on the toolbar or select the Insert > Auxiliary grid menu items.
  2. Select one of the Construction aids options in the command bar.
  3. Left-click to determine the starting point of the auxiliary grid.
  4. From the Input mode group box, select the Point option and enter the X, Y and Z coordinates for the first, second and last point of the grid, thus specifying the grid shape.
Enter the desired values in the Cell width and Cell height fields.
  5. Or select the Distance option from the Input mode group box and enter the Length, Cell width and Cell height values into the respective fields.
  6. Or use the left-hand mouse button to place the auxiliary grid.

As soon as the last point of the grid (the one defining its shape) is placed, the command is terminated.
  7. Select the grid either in the 3D window or in the tree view to change its properties in the properties panel. Size and number of cells of the auxiliary grid can be changed in the Advanced section of the properties panel.

Note:

When placing objects, you can choose to place them freely, on a key point, anywhere on a particular surface, or anywhere on a particular plane. You can also combine these options, e.g. you can choose to place an object on a particular plane and then on a particular key point on that plane. Just use the corresponding button or shortcut.
