Tab Additional info

As the caption suggests this dialog / tab contains information which is not compulsory, but can be freely set and evaluated by the user. This includes the following data:

User-defined properties

For each library item you can determine a number of user-defined properties. For property values the following types are available and can be selected in the popup menu:

Property type

Description

Yes / No

Value is represented by a check box (can be checked or unchecked).

Color

Value is represented by color and opacity and can be selected from a drop-down list.

Date

Current date is set as default value. The date can be edited via the keyboard or the drop-down calendar.

Text

Can be typed in.

With units

Number or range of numeric values automatically supplemented with default unit of the selected quantity (see Settings). It is also possible to determine a different unit manually.

Note:

You can select property names from the list of previously determined properties in the drop-down list.

Preview

For each library item you can specify an image as a graphical representation. For part types which have a 3D window available there is a preview of the 3D model displayed by default as well as a 2D drawing for 2D items.

By clicking the [Load] button you can browse for *.bmp, *.png, *.jpg or *.gif images. The [Clear] button serves to switch back to a 3D or 2D preview for the selected item types.

Tags

For easier and more comfortable searching, tags can be assigned to every library item. These can then be used as search criteria for queries in the Library view and Part navigator.

The New tag entry serves for adding new tags into the library. In the Available tags list you can assign the existing tags to the currently opened library item by activating the respective check boxes.

Note:

A newly added tag is assigned to the current library item automatically.
