Inserting Wire Terminals

Wire terminals are conductive wire termination devices designed to handle one or more conductors and to be inserted into a connectable object or be attached to a board, bus, or block. Within EPLAN Harness proD, wire terminals can be placed non-graphically on the end of a wire connected to some pin or onto a pin or be placed graphically directly into workspace / workdesk as a stand-alone component.

Wire terminals can be inserted manually (see below) or by means of the AutoAttach parts function. To use the AutoAttach parts function for wire terminals, the wire terminals have to be assigned to a connectable object in Library and they have to be created prior to the connectable object.

A wire terminal receives the wire harness identifier of the object which it is attached to.

If there is a crimp applicator assigned to a wire terminal, it is displayed in the Advanced section of the properties panel. In case there are several crimp applicators available, you can select the desired one.

Displaying non-graphical wire terminal in nailboard

To display the symbol of a non-graphically inserted wire terminal in a nailboard, the Show wire terminal check box in the Tools > Nailboard display configuration set editor > Pin menu path must be activated.

Displaying non-graphical wire terminal in cable drawing

To display the symbol of a non-graphically inserted wire terminal in a cable drawing, the wire terminal must be part of a cable unit, and the connectable object the wire is connected to must not be a part of the cable unit.
