AutoRouting Unrouted Wires

The AutoRoute wires command is used to automatically route all unrouted source objects.

Source objects are all objects which can be pulled through target objects. They include wires and rapid prototype wires. The target objects include bundles and all types of surface protections.

If a target object has several segments, the AutoRoute wires function will pull the source object through the first and last end points of the target object which is closest to it.

Note:

It is not possible to pull source objects through control points.

The AutoRoute wires function is a "one-step" function: it automatically routes all unrouted source objects through the closest target objects. For manual routing, use the Manual route function.

If there are any control points (or labels or cable ties) on the source objects before you add them to a target object, they will be lost after the objects are routed.

  1. Select the Tools > AutoRoute wires menu items or the button on the toolbar.

All unrouted source objects are routed through the target objects which are closest to them.
  2. If this function routes a source object which you did not want to be routed, use the Unroute function.
