- Free drawing: This option hides the global grid. Objects can be moved freely without being snapped to the grid.
- Key points: With this option the objects are snapped to the key points of other objects, but not to the grid at all.
- Invisible grid: This option hides the global grid. Objects are, however, snapped to the grid.
- Free grid: This option displays the global grid. Objects can be moved freely without being snapped to the grid.
- Visible grid: This option displays the global grid. Objects are snapped to the grid.
To switch off the Global grid, select the Global grid entry in the Environment node of the tree view and set the Distance [x,y] values in the properties panel to zero. In this case, the global grid is not displayed and objects can be moved freely without being snapped to the grid.
If you want to work again with the global grid later on, enter a value > 0 in the Distance [x,y] field.
