Merging Control Points

The Merge control points function entails various operations between bundles, wires, cables and objects like clips, leading parts, and special components:

Pull bundle (wire, cable) through clip

  1. Select the Tools > Merge control points menu items or the button on the toolbar.
  2. Select an inner point of a wire, cable, or bundle (it does not need to be an existing control point) by clicking.
  3. Click on a clip.

    The control point will be placed on the clip.

Note:

If you first select a clip and then a bundle point, the clip will move to the selected point's position.

Pull ribbon cable through inline grouped pin

  1. Select the Tools > Merge control points menu items or the button on the toolbar.
  2. Select an inner point of a ribbon cable (it does not need to be an existing control point) by clicking.
  3. Click on an inline ribbon grouped pin.

    The control point will be placed on the grouped pin.

Note:

If you first select an inline ribbon grouped pin and then a ribbon cable control point, the inline ribbon grouped pin will move to the selected point's position.

Connect bundle end point to leading part

  1. Select the Tools > Merge control points menu items or the button on the toolbar.
  2. Select a bundle end point by clicking.
  3. Click on a leading part (or grommet) end point.

    The end point of the bundle will be connected to the leading part's end point.

Replace control point by special component

  1. Select the Tools > Merge control points menu items or the button on the toolbar.
  2. Select an inner point of a bundle (it does not need to be an existing control point) by clicking.
  3. Select a special component.

    The selected point of the bundle will move to the special component, and the bundle will be split in two.

Note:

If you first select a special component and then a bundle point, the special component will move to the selected point's position.

Attach control point to bundle

  1. Select the Tools > Merge control points menu items or the button on the toolbar.
  2. Select an inner control point of a wire, cable, or bundle by clicking.
  3. Select an inner point of a bundle (it does not need to be an existing control point) by clicking.

    The selected control point will move to the position of the inner bundle point.
