Opening projects via QR code

If wiring jobs are managed via QR codes in your company, EPLAN Smart Wiring provides the possibility to automatically open working directories or projects with a scanner. To do so, use the QR code symbol in the Open project dialog.

Preconditions

• The design department has sent you the QR code via e-mail or stored it in your job folder.
• The QR code contains the path to a specific working directory or its subdirectory in which project files are stored.
• Or the QR code contains a path to a specific project file, which is stored in the working directory or its subdirectory.
• You have a scanner which is connected via an USB interface to your computer or tablet.

Procedure

1. In EPLAN Smart Wiring select the menu item Project > Open project.
2. In the header line of the Open project dialog, click or tap the symbol.
3. Take the scanner and hold it on the barcode.
4. Start the scan procedure by clicking the [OK] button in the Scanning QR code dialog.
5. The directory contained in the QR code or the coded project file is opened directly.
