Creating and sending comments

EPLAN Smart Wiring offers the possibility to create comments and send these as a message per e-mail to a recipient of your choice. A difference is made between project and connection comments. In general the method of creating and sending comments is identical, only the location of the call up is different.

Creating and sending project comments

Preconditions

  • The e-mail server has been configured by your administrator.
  • You have started EPLAN Smart Wiring and opened or continued a project.

Procedure

  1. In the status bar click or tap the symbol .
  2. A flyout called Project comments is shown to the right of the connection list.
  3. Enter your comment into the field with the command prompt.
  4. If necessary, add a screenshot of the wiring situation currently displayed in the 3D viewThe 3D view is a separate display area in EPLAN Smart Wiring. This is always visible when 3D information is available in the loaded project. by clicking the button [Screenshot].
  5. The screenshot is attached to the entered text in the input field.
  6. When you click or tap the figure in the input field, a preview with an enlarged representation of the screenshot is opened.
  7. If necessary, add any file, for example an image, to your e-mail by clicking the [Attach file] button and selecting the file in the next dialog.
  8. Select one of the following options:
  • [Save] if you want to first save and later send the currently entered comment, the added screenshot and / or the attached file;
  • [Send] to send the information currently available in the input field;
  • [Send all] if all the saved information is to be sent at once.
  1. If you have decided to send, enter the e-mail address of the recipient in the next dialog.
  1. Confirm the entry.
  2. The e-mail is sent.

Notes

  • When saving comments and screenshots this information is moved to the Written comments field and there identified with the creation date and your user code.
  • The saved or sent comment is saved as a file of the type *.csv in the working directory or in the selected subdirectory.

Creating and sending connection comments

Preconditions

  • The same requirements apply as described in the section "Creating and Sending Project Comments".
  • In addition you have marked a routing connection in the connection list, so that the detailed view of the routing connection is open.

Procedure

  1. In the detailed view click or tap the button with the symbol .
  2. A flyout called Connection comments is shown to the right of the connection list.
  3. Repeat the settings described under 2 in the section Creating and Sending Project Comments.

Note

If a comment was saved and / or sent for a routing connection, this is identified with the symbol in the respective row of the connection list.
