During the configuration of devices data are transferred to the components at specific actions. The Plug designation property is only transferred from the part to the target components in the following cases:
- A value is already entered at the Plug designation property at the target component. An existing plug designation is, however, never overwritten by an empty value.
- No plug designation is entered at the target component, but an incorrect value for the Plug designation (automatic) property would arise through the DT transfer.
This behavior applies at the following actions:
- Generate device (by using the New device popup menu item in a project data navigator). The project setting Consider macro when generating devices is activated, and a macro is stored at the selected part.
The target components are the components in the macro. - Insert device, with a macro being stored at the selected part.
The target components are the components in the macro. - Placement of a function with a macro being used (for example by using the Place popup menu item in a project data navigator).
The target components are the components in the macro. - Device selection
The target components are the components of the device in the project. - Using unplaced functions / function templates.
The target component is that at which using is carried out. - Assigning of functions / function templates to a component (for example by using the Assign popup menu item in the device navigator).
The target component is the component that receives the assignment.
If the placement of a component that takes the plug designation from a different component is deleted, the plug designation is retained at the unplaced function. The value of the plug designation is stored in the Plug designation property.
In macros the Plug designation (automatic) property is stored and is used for assignment.
Note:
The same behavior also applies to the Channel designation and Channel designation (automatic) properties.
