To check device tags, for instance, for length and valid characters, they must be subdivided. By default, DTs are subdivided in EPLAN as follows:
- Partial DT 1
- Partial DT 2
- Prefix
- Identifier
- Counter
- Subcounter.
However, there are cases (e.g. in fluid power) where different codes must be entered in a field. For instance, the identifier or the counter might contain other characters. For these cases, the DT of a function can be analyzed and subdivided into columns according to a defined rule.
Three groups of characters are used for this analysis:
- Numbers: 0-9
- Special characters: = + - _ / : & * ? , .
- Other: All other Unicode characters.
If the character group changes within the DT (e.g. a special character follows a number, such as "...0-...") then the character from the new group is entered into the next column. As long as the character group doesn't change, all characters are then written into this same column.
Note:
The DT subdivision does not take the full DT into account, but only the identifier block "DT"; other structure identifiers (e.g. the installation number for fluid DTs) are not subdivided.
The headings and number of columns are determined in a scheme. If there aren't enough columns, the remaining DT components are entered into the last column.
The DT "0-0W4" (0 corresponds to the installation number, -0W4 corresponds to the DT) is subdivided into the following columns:
Section 1 |
Section 2 |
Section 3 |
|
---|---|---|---|
0 |
W |
4 |
If only two columns are defined, the DT is subdivided as follows:
Section 1 |
Section 2 |
|
---|---|---|
0 |
W4 |
|
Functions which take their DT from another function (from the left or above) cannot be edited. The corresponding fields are grayed out.
Nested DT components can also not be edited, and the corresponding fields will be grayed out.
