Tab Cut-outs

In this tab you specify the spatial arrangement and specific data of the cut-outs that are part of a drilling pattern.

Overview of the main dialog elements:

Outline name:

If you have chosen the "User-defined outline" drill type, then you can enter a designation for the outline here.

X position / Y position:

X / Y positions are the coordinates of the center of the cut-out or of the point of origin of the user-defined outline referenced to the point of origin of the item (bottom, left).

1st dimension / 2nd dimension / 3rd dimension:

Enter the desired dimensions for particular drill types into these fields.

Repetitive spacing:

Enter the distance in this field which all additional drill holes should be from one another.

End spacing:

In this field, enter the minimum clearance of the last drill hole to the right edge of the object, i.e. no drill hole will be placed closer to the edge of the object than the value specified here. For (e.g.) cable ducts you can use this setting to define how far away the drill hole is from the edge of the cable duct, so that no problems occur when screwing it tight.

Drill every n-th hole:

In this field, you can determine which holes should be drilled; for instance, if you entered "4" then only every fourth hole is drilled.

Note:

Please note that the properties Repetitive spacing, End spacing, and Drill every n-th hole can only be evaluated for variable-length items. The usage of these properties is thus not possible for items whose width, height and depth are explicitly defined in the part properties or in a 3D macro.

Always make:

If this check box is activated, the machining (drill hole, thread, rectangular, etc.) defined in the Drill type field is always executed, even if the affected part has not been placed directly on an NC-relevant mounting surface. This is the case when the part has been placed on a mounting rail. The system always searches the structure automatically for the next mounting surface to be fabricated, and outputs the drilling data to this mounting surface.

If the check box is deactivated (default setting), the drill hole will be manufactured only if it has been placed on an NC-relevant mounting surface.
