Dialog Generate PLC schematic

In this dialog you select the PLC device that is to be subsequently automatically placed. Unplaced PLC functions and also those that are only unplaced in certain representation types can be automatically placed. If you have already generated a PLC schematic then the automatically placed PLC functions can be deleted and placed again. The current project is completely locked when the dialog opens.

Overview of the main dialog elements:

Table:

The table shows the PLC devices contained in the selection. A device is always completely displayed, even when only parts of it are included in the selection. If (e.g.) a PLC connection point is selected, then the corresponding PLC card and all the associated connection points are also displayed. However, each function is only displayed once in the table, even if they occur on multiple pages in the project (using different representation types). Unplaced functions and function templates are also displayed.

The table contains the following columns:

Calculate pages

In the Start pages dialog, allows entry of the page names for the first page of every active representation type. All other start pages for the remaining devices are automatically calculated and entered into the table.

Assign value set

Opens the Select value set - <Placeholder name> dialog allowing you to assign a value set to the variables in the selected macro. The variables are not intended for assigning values to PLC functions but rather for the additional functions contained in the macro.

Clean up variables

Alphanumerically sorts the variable columns and removes the variable columns that are no longer used.

Show messages

Opens the Messages dialog showing inconsistencies between the functions of the device and the assigned macro (e.g. representation type, macro variant, connection point).

Properties (global)

Opens the dialog Properties (global): <...>. Allows the editing of the device properties.

Generate single-line representations:

If this check box is selected, then single-line representations are generated. Macros with the "Single-line" representation type are placed on this, starting with macro variant A.

Generate multi-line representations:

If this check box is selected, then multi-line representations are generated. Macros with the "Multi-line" representation type are placed on this, starting with macro variant A.

Generate overviews:

If this check box is selected, then I/O overviews are generated Macros with variant A and the "Overview" representation type are placed on this.

Generate rack overviews:

If this check box is selected, then overviews for rack layout are generated. Macros with variant E and the "Overview" representation type are placed on this.

Note:

The page type generated when generating the different representations depends on the page type of the macro. (When creating a macro, the page type of the current page is automatically saved.) An overview macro can be placed on a multi-line page when (e.g.) generating an overview representation, if the first placed window macro has the page type "Schematic multi-line".
