Dialog Subprojects

The subprojects specified by the defined working sections that are possible for the selected exclusively opened project are displayed in this dialog.

Overview of the main dialog elements:

Project:

This field contains the name of the project for which you want to define the subprojects. The entry cannot be edited and the field is grayed out.

Subprojects:

This table displays information such as the status, subproject number, scheme name and description of the associated defined working section for the subprojects.

You can use the [...] button in the Directory column to select a different target directory, whereby this information is then stored in the source project. The default setting here is the set project directory.

If you activate the Only extend check box prior to filing off, the objects (pages, layout spaces, pre-planning segments, etc.) of the created subproject have a change protection assigned. The Change protection (ID 3014) property is activated automatically for these objects. The subproject can then only be extended. This means that you can add new pages, layout spaces, pre-planning segments, etc. to this subproject, but existing objects cannot be changed or deleted.

In the process the subprojects are numbered consecutively in the sequence of the defined working sections and supplemented with preceding zeroes (for example ESS_Sample_Project#003). If a defined working section is added later, the next higher free subproject number is assigned to the associated subproject.

The status of the subprojects is indicated by the following icons:

The subproject is not an editable project (*.elk), it cannot be filed off. Such an icon is for example displayed when a subproject is filed off additionally via the data backup.

Popup menu:

From within the table you can open a popup menu that makes the following menu items available:

Menu item

Meaning

Freeze panes

Fixes all the rows of the table above the selected row, or all of the columns to the left of the selected column. The rows below, or the columns to the right of the selection, can still be moved by using the scroll bar.

Unfreeze panes

Removes the freezing so that all of the rows and columns can again be moved using the scroll bar.

Adjust column width

Adjusts the width of all table columns so that both the headings and column contents are fully legible.

[File off]:

This button can be used to create subprojects, i.e. file them off from the project. Overlapping defined working sections cannot be filed off. If you have marked such a defined working section, the [File off] button is grayed out.

[Store]:

This button is used to insert filed-off subprojects back into the project. Multiple selection of filed-off subprojects is possible.

[Update]:

Through this button you can update the main project, i.e. "store" new states of subprojects, without having to file them off again.
