Tab Layers

To be able to uniquely recognize a logical element on a page, the DXF / DWG file must already be set up using different layers. Using the table in this tab, assign the layers used in AutoCAD to the predefined EPLAN default and project layers.

The following dialog elements are available:

Toolbar:

The following buttons are available on the toolbar above the table:

Button

Meaning

(New)

Creates a new table row, with default values, after the last entry in the table.

(Delete)

Deletes the currently marked table entries. (Multiple selection is possible.)

Name:

This is the name of the EPLAN layer from Layer management (Options > Layer management), e.g. EPLAN100. Click the arrow in the field to open the drop-down list of all EPLAN layers and select the desired layer.

Description:

Associated description of the EPLAN layer, also from Layer management (Options > Layer management), e.g. Symbol graphic.General.
Please note that the description of a default layer cannot be changed! (Standard layers are all layers with the name EPLANxxx.)

CAD name:

The default for CAD-specific layer names is taken from the EPLAN layer names and then can be edited here.

Visible / Print / Locked:

Layer properties are specified under Options > Layer management. Changes made to a property in this tab do not affect an open project.

Popup menu:

Within the table there is a popup menu with the following options:

Menu item

Meaning

Freeze panes

Fixes all the rows of the table above the selected row, or all of the columns to the left of the selected column. The rows below, or the columns to the right of the selection, can still be moved by using the scroll bar.

Unfreeze panes

Removes the freezing so that all of the rows and columns can again be moved using the scroll bar.

Adjust column width

Adjusts the width of all table columns so that both the headings and column contents are fully legible.

Font size 100%

This menu item is only available if the font size has been changed in the table (via [Ctrl] + scrolling with the mouse wheel). Re-displays the text in the table in its original font size.

[Add]:

Click this button in order to automatically add all of the layers in the current project to the table and edit the assignments. If layer allocations have already been defined, then these are not overwritten by this function.

Note:

Layers not contained in this list are transferred unchanged and an attempt is made to transfer all of the layer properties (line thickness, font size, etc.) too.
