The individual compositions can differ in many ways:
- Different compositions can consist of different components (including non-graphical ones).
- Different compositions can contain the same components with a different layout.
- Individual components (including non-graphical ones) can be removed from compositions by simply unchecking the In composition check box in the component's general properties.
- Different connection pin mappings can be set for individual compositions.
- Combinations of differences can be combined arbitrarily.
A new composition is always created on the basis of the current one.
Note:
Compositions are only available in the 3D environment of assemblies and devices.
Create new composition
- Select the desired initial composition from the Compositions drop-down list or start with the Default composition.
- Click the New composition button on the toolbar.
- Enter the composition name in the New composition dialog.
- Arrange the composition as desired (using the techniques described above).
- Save the assembly / device.
Manage existing compositions
Existing compositions can be assigned via the Compositions drop-down list in the toolbar.
The currently displayed composition (if it is not the only one - at least one composition must always exist) can be deleted using the Remove current composition command.
The currently displayed composition can be renamed with the Rename composition command.
