If the Discontinued part check box is turned off in the master data, the previous state is reset in EPLAN Harness proD Library. The previous state is the state which was set prior to the Obsolete setting in EPLAN Harness proD Library or before activating the Discontinued part setting in the master data. |

For colors and stripe colors, the following abbreviations are supported: |
|
For other colors the hexadecimal code is used, e.g. " |
|
The following function templates are supported for wires: |
General > General special functions > Connection > Connection definition > Conductor / wire |
General > General special functions > Connection > Connection definition > Connection, general |
Note:
In EPLAN Harness proD, the minimal bending radius is a dimensionless factor that, when multiplied with the cable's or wire's outside diameter, returns the actual value of the minimal bending radius in terms of a unit of length; the EPLAN Platform does, however, already store the minimal bending radius with the unit of length. It is therefore important to remember that:
EPLAN Harness proD minimal bending radius = EPLAN Platform minimal bending radius / outside diameter of the cable or wire in question.

The following function definitions are supported for cable shields:
|
General > General special functions > Connection > Connection definition > Conductor / wire |
General > General special functions > Connection > Connection definition > Connection, general |
|
As long as a name of the supported function definition is entered in the Shielded by entry for cable shields of the master data, they become a shield in EPLAN Harness proD Library. |
|
If the shield is created in EPLAN Harness proD Library, it has the Cable definition function definition in the master data with an additional Conductor / wire function definition of Potential type "SH" to represent the shield. |
|
If the Function templates > Connection: Cross-section / diameter entry contains no value at all, the shield in EPLAN Harness proD Library is non-conductive, and therefore the Conductive check box is not activated. |
|
For cables created in the EPLAN platform master data, all associated wires in EPLAN Harness proD Library have the Insulation property activated. |

Rules for cross-sections of cables and ribbon cable wires |
---|
The cable wire's outside diameter is calculated on the basis of the cable wire cross-section. |
If the Function templates > Connection: Cross-section / diameter entry contains a value with units which are currently not set in EPLAN Harness proD Library, the value is converted (recalculated) to the units determined in the EPLAN Harness proD Library settings for units. |
If the Function templates > Connection: Cross-section / diameter entry contains a value with area units, this value is used as the cable wire's cross-section in EPLAN Harness proD Library. |
If the Function templates > Connection: Cross-section / diameter entry contains a value with length units, the value is used as the cable wire's outside diameter, and the cross-section is calculated on the basis of this value. |
If the Function templates > Connection: Cross-section / diameter entry contains a value without any units, the units determined in the Properties > Unit for connection cross-section / diameter field are used. If the entry there is set to "As in project", the units determined in the EPLAN Harness proD Library settings for units are used. |
If the Function templates > Connection: Cross-section / diameter entry contains no value at all and the value in the Properties > Connection: Cross-section / diameter field does not contain any units, this value is used as the cable wire's cross-section. |
