Placing Gaps

The Place gap command allows to shorten (or extend) a bundle or cable representation in the nailboard by using an interrupted (broken-up) view. The omitted part is displayed by a gap symbol (see Wire Harness Components for details).

  1. Select the Edit > Place gap menu items.
  2. Select two control points.

    Notes:

    • Existing control points, user-defined control points, label and cable tie control points can be combined to place the gap.
    • Two end points of a leading part cannot be used to place the gap.
    • A leading part end point can be used with another control point, user-defined control point, cable tie or label control point. The leading part end point must be selected first and be determined as the base point.
    • Control points originating from a workspace / workdesk must be neighboring.
    • If a control point originated from a workspace / workdesk and is combined with a user-defined control point, those two do not have to be neighboring.

    The "Shrink handler" is displayed.
  3. If necessary, the base point can be reset by clicking the Set base point button in the command bar.
  4. Repeat the previous steps to select new control points.
  5. Select the Shrinking or Gap length option in the command bar or drag the mouse to create the gap.
  6. Click [OK].

Gap and gap symbol are placed.

Note:

If the gap segment contains any other control points (including labels, cable ties, ...), those will be hidden. They will only appear again after deleting the gap.
