Queries

A query is an instrument which helps you to easily find a library item based on the knowledge of some of its properties. The table below lists the commands that are available in the Query panel toolbar.

Description

Clear query.

Open selected query.

Update / save current query.

Delete selected query.

Start current query.

Stop active query.

The Predefined queries drop-down list contains a list of existing (previously created and saved) queries. Here, you can also enter the name of a new query or edit an existing one.

The Types filter list allows you to narrow the query result to exactly the library item types you have activated.

The actual Query table is the place to define the query. Each row of the table represents one condition. Each condition consists of a Name, a Comparison and a Value column. Names and comparisons can be selected from drop-down lists. The list of available operators depends on the selected property. The resulting query is a logical AND conjunction of the particular conditions (and the Types filter if set).

Note:

An Outside diameter entry in the Name row searches for library items that have a range of values as their outside diameter such as special components, cavity seals, wire terminals, braided sleeves, etc. Or this setting searches for library items that have a single value as their outside diameter such as wires, cable ties, cables, flexible tubing, looms, etc.

The table below lists available Comparison types.
