Property |
Description |
---|---|
Part name |
Mandatory property. Basic part identifier. |
Category / Family |
Category is a mandatory property. Allows to subdivide parts of the same type. Families, on the other hand, can group items of different types which are, e.g., used within one wire harness. Note: There are no default categories or families. A new category / family is determined in the current library when you create a new part and enter a category / family name. When creating another new part you can select from the already existing entries in the Category / Family drop-down list. An existing category can also be selected from the tree-like structure of categories: Click the button next to the Category drop-down list to open the Select category dialog. |

Part numbers |
In the Part number column of this table you can assign catalog numbers to your parts. You can differentiate the parts by supply type (Internal, Cross-reference, Supplier and Manufacturer entries of the Type column) and you can specify a supplying company from the Company drop-down list. Notes:

Part status |
For monitoring the life cycle of your parts you can determine a part status for each of them. You can choose one of the following statuses: "Work in progress", "Approved", "Released", "Under appraisal" (default setting), "Active", "Obsolete", and "Stipulated". Note: Parts with status "Obsolete" are "crossed out" in the library view, cannot be selected in the EPLAN Harness proD Studio part navigator, and their use in the workspace is checked in the tasks. |
