Creating / Deleting Revisions

Prerequisite:

You have selected the desired document in the Project structure tab.

Create revision

To create a revision, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the Create revision popup menu item or the (Revision) button on the Project structure toolbar.

    A prompt for confirmation is displayed.
  2. Click [Yes].

    The revision node containing the created revision is generated below the selected document.

    If the revision was created from a workspace / workdesk document, the revisions of the derived nailboard / cable drawing / report documents are created as well.

    The revision node receives the same name as the selected document, and a numeric suffix is added to the revision node, e.g. Workdesk_1[1.0].

    A numeric suffix is also added to all document revisions, e.g. Nailboard_1[1.0].

Delete revision

To delete a revision, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the Delete popup menu item or the (Delete) button on the Project structure toolbar.

    A prompt for confirmation is displayed.
  2. Click [Yes].

    The selected document / revision node and all documents in it are deleted.

    If there is only one document in the revision node and the document is deleted, the revision node is not deleted. However, no documents can be added to the revision node, so it is recommended that the empty revision node is deleted as well.

Note:

When revision documents / revision nodes are deleted, they still remain in the project folder on the hard disk. If a new revision is created from the same document, the minor version is increased.


To remove unused documents from the project folder, use the Clean up project command.
