An annotation is an explanatory note. To create an annotation, you can use the mouse and the keyboard. Both techniques can be combined.
Using the mouse
- Click the Annotation button on the toolbar.
- Place the annotation where desired in the 2D workspace. The 1st click places the base of the annotation and the 2nd click places the annotation itself.
- You can place the annotation freely (using the Free drawing mode) or link it to a key point (using the Key points function).
- Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Annotation button again, if desired.
Using the command bar
- Click the Annotation button on the toolbar.
- Determine the X and Y coordinates of the base of the annotation and confirm with [OK].
- Determine the Font properties, edit the text as you wish, and either click [Apply] or continue by determining the X and Y coordinates and clicking [OK]. Alternatively, you can switch to the Distance command and determine the Length and Angle values of the segment and then click [OK].
- Determine the shape of the text box by selecting one of the following entries from the Text box drop-down list:
- Rectangle
- Corners
- Circle
- Ellipse.
- Determine the symbol shape and its size from the following entries of the Symbol shape drop-down list:
- None
- Point
- Square
- Plus
- Cross
- Star
- Arrow.
- Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Annotation button again, if desired.
