Unrouting Path Segments

The Unroute path segment command is used to remove source paths from target paths.

Source objects are all objects which can be pulled through target objects. They include wires, rapid prototype wires, cables, empty cables, rapid prototype cables, bundles, surface protections, looms, wrap tapes, and flexible tubing. The target objects include bundles and all types of surface protections.

The Unroute path segment function is a "one-step" function: it removes the source paths from one segment of the parent path through which it is routed. The command has to be repeated to remove the source object from another parent path or another segment of the same parent path. To remove a source path from more than one parent path at once, use the Unroute command.

If there are any control points (or labels or cable ties) on the source objects before they are unrouted from a parent path, they will not be lost after the objects are unrouted.

  1. Select the Tools > Unroute path segment menu items or the button on the toolbar.
  2. Select the source object which you would like to remove from a target object.

All selectable objects are highlighted when you move the mouse over them.
  3. Select the target object by clicking.

The selected source object is removed from the target object.
  4. Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Unroute path segment button again, if desired.
