Adding Terminal Accessories with the "PHOENIX CONTACT clipx ENGINEER" Add-on

The add-on "PHOENIX CONTACT clipx ENGINEER" can be used to add terminals from PHOENIX CONTACT comfortably with suitable accessories. You can download the add-on free of charge from the website of the manufacturer and then install it on your computer. The add-on is registered under File > Extras > Interfaces > Manage in the dialog Add-ons and can be called up via the tab Tools of the EPLAN ribbon.

Installation

  1. Call up the website of the manufacturer: https://www.phoenixcontact.com.
  2. Download the add-on in the download area.
  3. Execute the installation file of the add-on on your computer.
  4. Start EPLAN.

    The add-on is displayed in the Tools tab.

Add terminal accessories

Preconditions:

  • You have installed the add-on "PHOENIX CONTACT clipx ENGINEER".
  • You have opened a project.
  • You have placed at least one terminal in the schematic and in the layout space.
  1. Select the following commands: Tab Tools > clipx ENGINEER.

    The add-on is displayed.
  2. Specify the export settings for the data exchange with "clipx ENGINEER" and click the button to continue.
  3. Select your project, a layout space or terminals for the export and the subsequent editing and click the button for the export.

    The web version of the software "PHOENIX CONTACT clipx ENGINEER" including the terminals of your selected project is displayed.
  4. Add the desired terminal accessories from the Insert center of the software to your terminals.
  5. When you have finished placing the terminal accessories, click the button at the top left in the software to send the data back to EPLAN.
  6. Confirm the displayed message and then select the terminals that you want to send back to EPLAN.
  7. Click the export button.
  8. Click the import button.

    You return to EPLAN and the terminal accessories selected in "clipx ENGINEER" are displayed in the layout space of your project.

Notes:

  • The data exchange between EPLAN Pro Panel and the "PHOENIX CONTACT clipx ENGINEER" add-on is effected via an AML file that is exported in the background. Please note that parts at which the value "Undefined" or "Process engineering" is stored for the Generic product group property are generally not exported.
  • Since only part references are transferred from the "PHOENIX CONTACT clipx ENGINEER" add-on, you have to download the parts of the selected components from the EPLAN Data Portal. You have to be signed in to the EPLAN Cloud in order to use EPLAN Data Portal. You can find further information on EPLAN Cloud products in the EPLAN Information Portal.
  • Please always use current and unchanged PHOENIX CONTACT parts data from EPLAN Data Portal. This applies in particular to placement areas and handles on enclosures and 3D macros. This is the only way to ensure error-free and successful data exchange between EPLAN Pro Panel and the add-on "PHOENIX CONTACT clipx ENGINEER".
