Project documentation that is based on the 'Ladder' logic is often required for the USA market. EPLAN Cogineer offers you the possibility to generate such project documentation automatically. The 'Ladder' logic forms part of the NFPA standard that is widely used in America. However, to draw up the project documentation completely in accordance with the NFPA further steps are required, for example the usage of corresponding symbol libraries.
Preconditions:
- You have activated the Enable ladder logic option in the settings.
- Your library consists of macros that are suitable for usage in the 'Ladder' logic.
- You have called the dialog Designer and are in the editing mode of a Macro-Typical.
Procedure:
- Click the desired macro in the list of Elements in the workspace.
- The view is extended with the structure and variable information that exists in the macro.
- The 'Ladder' input field is located under input fields of the structure identifiers .
- Enter the number of the 'Ladder' on which the macro is to be placed.
- Specify the structure identifiers, position and values of the variables that are to be used for the macro.
- The macro is placed in the schematic in accordance with your specifications.
Notes:
- If you want to use 'Ladder' logic, please ensure that you use a corresponding plot frame. Otherwise the macros cannot be placed correctly. The corresponding setting is available in the EPLAN platform.
- Use the 'Ladder' logic only in combination with the macros conditioned to this purpose.
