Synchronizing Parts Data

The manufacturers update the parts data in EPLAN Data Portal at regular intervals. You can synchronize all the parts in your parts database that exist in the EPLAN Data Portal by using the parts management of the EPLAN platform. If new data are available in EPLAN Data Portal for the parts, you decide whether the new data are to be applied.

Preconditions:

Procedure:

  1. Mark the parts in the parts management whose data you want to synchronize.
  2. Select Update via Data Portal in the popup menu.
  3. The EPLAN Data Portal navigator is opened.
  4. Through the list of parts a summary is shown for the parts that you have marked in the parts management.
  5. All the parts for which new data are available are displayed in the list of parts.
  1. Click the button above a part to have the difference shown between the parts data of the part in your local parts database and the EPLAN Data Portal.
  2. In the summary click Update / enhance all parts or the button above a single part in order to import the data of all the parts or of a single part.
  3. The Download in the background area is displayed at the bottom of the EPLAN Data Portal navigator.
  4. The data is downloaded in the background.
  1. When the download is finished, you can decide whether you want to import the data into the parts database. To do so click the Import button.
  2. The Parts import dialog opens.
  1. Select the data to be updated in the Parts import dialog. Use the Protect fields option if you want to protect certain properties against being overwritten. Click [...] to select the corresponding properties.
  2. The dialog Protect fields is opened.
  1. Select or create a corresponding scheme. Alternatively you can specify individual properties that are to be protected during updating in the lower section. Confirm your entries.
  2. The corresponding data are updated.
