Creating Texts

A text field can be placed anywhere in the 2D window. To create a text field, you can use the mouse and the keyboard. Both techniques can be combined.

Using the mouse

  1. Click the Text button on the toolbar.
  2. Create the text field by clicking on the desired location in the 2D working window.
  3. Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Text button again, if desired.

Using the command bar

  1. Click the Text button on the toolbar.
  2. Determine the desired text properties in the command bar, click Apply, and drag the text to its desired location. Or determine the X and Y coordinates of the text and click [OK]. Or combine the two methods described above and click [OK].
  3. Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Text button again, if desired.

Properties

Existing text can be edited in the properties panel. The properties common to all 2D objects are described in the 2D Properties Panel section of this help file.

Editing the object properties of a text field allows changing (or setting more accurately) the alignment of the text, the type of font used and its properties, and the position of the text field which you can change by determining the X and Y coordinates after selecting the particular text field in the 2D window. Lastly, you can modify the text itself by changing the content of the Text field.

Note:

Individual key points can also be moved with the pointer. See 2D Object Control Commands for details.
