Creating Circles through 3 Points

A circle is a closed curve, everywhere equidistant from its center. A circle through three points is defined by three points which are intersected by the curve. To create a circle through 3 points, you can use the mouse and the keyboard. Both techniques can be combined.

Using the mouse

  1. Click the Circle through 3 points button on the toolbar.
  2. Determine the first point by clicking on the desired location in the working window.
  3. Determine the other points in the same way.
  4. Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Circle through 3 points button again, if desired.

Using the command bar

  1. Click the Circle through 3 points button on the toolbar.
  2. Determine the X and Y coordinates of the first point in the command bar and confirm with [OK].
  3. Determine the second and third points in the same way.
  4. Click [OK] to complete the circle.
  5. Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Circle through 3 points button again, if desired.
