Migrating Rittal TS8 Parts to Rittal VX25 Parts

The Migrate part functionality is a conversion aid to migrate part placements in existing EPLAN Pro Panel projects from the Rittal baying system TS8 with the Rittal baying system VX25.

Note:

Please read the EPLAN Disclaimer of Liability Declaration first before you use the Migrate part functionality.

Information about the conditions and limits applying for migration can be found in the section "Migration of Enclosure Parts".

Proceed in this order to migrate parts via the menu items Edit > Migrate part or the popup menu item Migrate part:

  1. Automatic migration of projects, layout spaces and enclosures
  2. Using check runs to check the results of the automatic migration
  3. Manual migration of certain items that were determined during check runs.

Automatic migration

In this process the entire contents of a project, of a layout space or of an individual enclosure are analyzed. You can find a list of the part placements that can be automatically migrated here. If all components match the applicable conditions, all TS8 parts are migrated to VX25 parts.

Missing VX25 parts can be exported to the CSV file so that these parts can be obtained from the EPLAN Data Portal. After the parts data was supplemented from the Data Portal, you again perform the automatic migration.

After the automatic migration, perform check runs 026102 and 026104, to determine accessories that have not been and cannot be migrated.

Manual migration

If necessary, manual migration is a required second step. TS8 parts, for which no VX25 part was available during the automatic migration of the complete enclosure, can subsequently be migrated individually and be placed again. You can find a list of the parts to be migrated manually here.

Items, which are not assigned to any mounting surface, can be found in the layout space navigator under the hierarchy level "Incorrectly placed". To determine such incorrect part placements you can use the new check run 026103.

After the migration an exact check of the results should be carried out. You can find a list of the checks to be performed here.

Correction of the enclosure distance for line ups

Since a VX25 enclosure is 2 mm wider than a TS8 enclosure, an intersection of the migrated VX25 enclosures occurs after the migration of an enclosure line up. The check run 026011 reports this as a collision.

To correct the distance within a line up, the new menu item Correct enclosure distance is available to you in the Edit menu. As a result the VX25 enclosures are each moved by a width of 2 mm and the collision is corrected.

Note:

The menu items Migrate part and Correct enclosure distance are not available in the optionally available extension module EPLAN Pro Panel Add-on.
