The Exchange mounting surface functionality allows the assigning of complex equipments to a different mounting surface. The equipment of the mounting surface can be exchanged on one item or between multiple items.
Benefit:
The Exchange mounting surface functionality supports the user with the transfer of existing components of a 3D mounting layout to another design environment. In particular the placement of items that were incorrectly placed again after a part exchange, can be corrected simply and quickly.
When exchanging a mounting surface via the menu items Edit > Graphic > Exchange mounting surface the following methods are possible:
- Exchange mounting surface between two surfaces: To do this select two objects by clicking and then select two surfaces on them whose equipment with items is to be exchanged with each other. You are supported by differently colored highlights during the selection of the objects, items and surfaces.
- Exchange mounting surface with preview: After having selected the objects and surfaces you can to this purpose display a preview of the placement to be expected on all the existing mounting surfaces by using the [Tab] button.

- Selection of a source and target item (mounting panels 1 and 2)
- Change of the preview of the placement to be expected on all mounting surfaces with [Tab]
- Termination of the selection with the space bar and result
