Mounting Lines for Non Length-Variable Items

In order to place 3D objects on non length-variable items (for example C horizontal rails) similarly to placing on mounting rails, mounting lines are now available as new mounting aids. Mounting lines have a definable alignment that you can apply from any surface. This means that mounting lines can also be used to place 3D objects on sloping surfaces and in non-orthogonal mounting positions.

Benefit:

You can use mounting lines to place 3D objects in variable positions on non length-variable items as it is normal on mounting rails. This significantly extends the spectrum of usable geometries for a placement of items.

To place such a logic element in a 3D macro or on a 3D object in the layout space select the new menu item Mounting line under the menu path Edit > Device logic.

First select the surface on which the mounting line is to be placed and from which it is to take over the alignment. Afterwards place the starting point and the end point of the mounting line. The line is displayed with a coordinate cross at which you can control the selected alignment.

To subsequently change the alignment and rotation of a mounting line, use the Rotate around axis functionality. Mounting lines can be moved in macro projects like graphical elements by using Edit > Move or via Drag & Drop.
