Dialog Settings: General (Pre-planning)

Use this dialog to specify whether functions that are linked with planning objects are to be protected by default. In addition you determine the behavior for the generation of schematics from pre-planning.

Overview of the main dialog elements:

Device protection when creating functions:

If this check box is enabled, functions linked with a planning object will be protected automatically with a device protection. That is, when placing or assigning planning objects, as well as when generating functions for a planning object, the respective functions will be assigned the Device protection (ID 20475) property automatically. This protection mainly applies to those parts that have been assigned to a function, but it also prevents functions from being deleted.

If the check box is disabled, the functions linked with planning objects will remain unprotected by default.

Group box Generate schematic

Based on pre-planning, schematics can be generated by dragging planning objects with assigned macros into the page navigator by means of drag & drop. You can either place each macro on a separate page or several macros on one page. The page name is determined automatically on the basis of the structure identifiers of the higher-level segments of the planning object.

Change protection when creating pages:

If this check box is activated, a change protection is assigned automatically to the pages generated from the macros. This means that the Change protection (ID 3014) property is assigned automatically to these pages. The pages and the functions placed on them are thus protected against changes and can no longer be edited, deleted, etc. Changes through the pre-planning are possible by using the functionality Update detailed planning.

If the check box is deactivated, the pages generated from the macros remain unprotected and can be edited subsequently.

Take into account only structure identifiers of the structure segments:

This setting is only relevant if you specified individual components of the structure identifiers at planning objects (PCT loop / sensor / actuator) that deviate from the structure of the higher-level segments (for example in the property Mounting location (single component)).

When this check box is activated, the individual components of the planning objects are not transferred to the structure identifiers of the pages to be created. Only the structure identifiers of the structure segments are relevant for the structure identifiers of the pages. In this case the individual components of the structure identifiers of a planning object are only transferred to the function for which a function template is stored at the planning object.

When this check box is deactivated, the individual components of the planning objects are transferred to the structure identifiers of the pages to be created. All the structure identifiers of the structure segments and of the planning objects are relevant for the structure identifiers of the pages. This has the effect that the individual components of the structure identifiers of a planning object are also transferred to all the functions placed on the page.

Place several macros on one page:

If this check box is activated, several macros are automatically placed on one page as long as there is enough space. Then a new page is generated and the next macros are placed there.
If you drag the planning object onto an already existing page, it will be placed there (if there is enough space), otherwise, a new page is generated.

If the check box is not selected, a separate page is generated for each macro.

Distance to margin:

If you place several macros on one page, you determine the distance here which the macros are to have to the page margin.

Space between the macros:

If you place several macros on one page, you determine the space between the macros here.

Place macros below each other:

This check box is only available if the setting Place several macros on one page has been activated.

If this check box is activated, several macros are automatically placed below each other on one page. In this case the settings Distance to margin and Space between the macros apply for placement in the Y direction.

If the check box is deactivated, several macros are automatically placed next to each other on one page. In this case the settings Distance to margin and Space between the macros apply for placement in the X direction.
