EPLAN Platform Parts management

New properties for UTC times

The previous properties for date and times specifications in the parts management save the data in the respective local time of the user. This resulted in incorrect time specifications for users in other time zones when the parts database was used worldwide. To have time specifications which are comparable worldwide, two new properties are available below the "Revision" hierarchy level, which output the time specifications in the Universal Time Coordinated (UTC): Creation date (UTC) (ID 22985) and Modification date (UTC) (ID 22986).

EPLAN Platform Parts management

Renamed an new properties

The Macro property which was previously placed on the Technical data tab has been renamed to Schematic macro. This means that this property can be more easily differentiated from the property Graphical macro where, for example, 3D macros for the layout space are placed. Both properties are now located on the Properties tab. The Schematic macro property in the Data hierarchy level and the Graphical macro property in the Mounting data hierarchy level.
In addition the new property Certification: UL Category Control Number (ID 22368) is now available in the Certification hierarchy level of the Properties tab. In the course of this change the property Certification: UL certification (ID 22049) has been renamed to Certification: UL File Number. • "Function template in the part: Function definition"
  • "Function template in the part: Function definition: Group"
  • "Function template in the part: Function definition: Category"
EPLAN Platform Part selection

Change for the project-specific part selection

At a project-specific part selection, only those parts are offered which are stored in the project. If such a part selection was set in the Settings: Part selection dialog in the "Project" option, an mdb database was previously created as a file for the parts stored in the project. This file is not required anymore. When using a project-specific part selection you now work directly in an internal project parts database with the parts stored in the project.

EPLAN Platform Revision control

Identification of pages with deleted objects as "Draft"

If an object on a page is deleted in a revision project, the page is now identified as "Draft", irrespective of the project setting While deleting create deletion markers and list deleted pages. This page can thus be completed and provided with a revision index.

EPLAN Platform User-defined properties

Other usages for user-defined part properties

The user-defined properties for this part are now also available to you in the parts management for the configuration of the tree view and list view. In addition these user-defined properties can now also be used as filter criteria for the parts pre-filtering. Furthermore these user-defined properties can now also be selected in the bill of materials and in the 3D mounting layout navigator as filter criteria in the Criteria selection dialog below the hierarchy level "Part".

EPLAN Platform User-defined properties

User-defined part properties without definition

If you import parts from Version 2.9 with assigned user-defined properties for parts or schemes for the user-defined properties, it is possible that you will add user-defined properties to the parts database which are not defined in the Configure properties dialog. A corresponding message is displayed in the system messages in this case.
User-defined properties without definition cannot be edited in the User-defined properties tab of the parts management. You can use the popup menu item Configure properties here to open the configuration dialog. The Configure properties dialog has sensible values directly pre-assigned. After you have applied the changed configuration and closed the dialog again, you can edit the user-defined property in the User-defined properties tab.
The new check run 501035 in the message class 501 "Part master data" is available to find parts in the parts management that have user-defined properties without an assigned definition.

EPLAN Pro Panel Routing connections

Improved routing for PLC devices

If PLC devices were placed on bases with the same DT, problems with the routing occurred because connection points existed double in the connection point patterns. A connection point pattern was generated from the function templates at the part of the PLC device, a connection point pattern was stored at the part of the respective base. If multiple items are now placed that have the same DT, a check is carried out whether one of these devices has a connection point pattern. If this is the case, no connection point pattern is generated from the function templates of the other parts anymore. Therefore routing in the layout space is now also possible for such PLC devices.

EPLAN Pro Panel Model views

Excluding model views for the output of labeling data for enclosure legends

EPLAN Pro Panel Manufacturing data Rittal Perforex / Secarex

New setting for the export scope when exporting for Rittal - Perforex

Both export interfaces for Rittal - Perforex do not only output data for machining of housings and flat parts to the respective Perforex system but also data for cutting wire ducts, mounting rails and C horizontal rails to the Rittal Secarex AC 18 cutting center. You now have the possibility to specify the export scope in both exports. To this purpose the drop-down list Extent has been added to the respective General tab in the dialogs Settings: Export Rittal - Perforex BC / Secarex and Settings: Export Rittal - Perforex LC / Secarex. With this you determine whether corresponding data shall only be transferred to Rittal - Perforex, only to the Rittal Secarex AC 18 cutting center or to Rittal - Perforex and the Rittal Secarex AC 18 cutting center.
