Numbering on Devices Connected to PLC

For devices connected to a PLC you can accept parts of the PLC address or the designation of the PLC connection point into the device tag (or the terminal or pin designation). Such an identifier is used for projects, for instance, which comply with the NFPA standard.

Numbering with PLC data offers the following options:

  • From the modified DT (or designation) you can tell the PLC connection point to which a device, terminal, or pin is connected.
  • The designation of a PLC connection point can be transferred to the terminals or pins connected directly to it. This is necessary if the plug of a PLC card is drawn as a separate component.
  • The area of influence of PLC connection points, within which the PLC data is transferred to connected devices, can be configured.
  • Each function stores information as to whether it was changed by numbering with PLC data.
  • As format elements, components of the PLC address, data from the PCL connection point (e.g. the connection point designation) and the format elements usual in DT numbering are all offered.
