Placing Graphical Accessories

The Add graphical accessory function allows library objects to be placed as an accessory to other placed library objects. This serves mainly to group together parts that belong to each other, such as a terminal and its terminal cover.

Library items with 3D graphics and special electrical components can be placed in any workspace / workdesk as a graphical accessory.

Graphical accessories can be attached to connectors, terminals, connectable objects, parts or connector components, special components, leading parts, and terminal strips.

Graphical accessories are placed within existing components in the workspace / workdesk; they are listed under the node of the associated component in the workspace / workdesk tree view.

The wire harness ID from the parent component is assigned to graphical accessories, regardless of whether automatic wire harness affiliation is activated or deactivated in the workspace or workdesk settings. For this reason they are part of the bill of materials.

Assuming that a wire harness ID is assigned to graphical accessories, they are displayed in the corresponding reports. This means that a graphical accessory special component is listed in the special components report, a graphical accessory connector is listed in the connector report, etc.

Note:

Accessories are placed without any accessories of their own.

  1. Select the Insert > Add graphical accessory menu items or the button on the main toolbar.

The Part navigator dialog is opened.
  2. Select the desired part and click [OK].

The Part navigator dialog is closed.
  3. Select an existing component in the workspace / workdesk working window or in the tree view.

The graphical accessory is placed below the node of the selected component in the tree view.
