In the parts management a mounting clearance in width, height and depth can be defined in the properties of a part (on the tab Properties in the hierarchy level Mounting data). This mounting clearance ensures that the permitted thermal stress on parts placed beside or on top of one another is not exceeded.

To monitor this, the specified mounting clearances can be shown during placement. They are shown as transparent, surrounding objects. In the placement options, the handle of a part to be placed can be set relative to the edges of the item (default) or to the mounting clearances.

Preconditions:

• You have opened a project.
• You have opened the layout space navigator and a layout space.
• The layout space contains part placements.

1. Activate the button Mounting clearances in the command group Layout space on the View tab.
   
   A transparent object is shown around part placements that have a defined mounting clearance.
