Dialog call dialog Properties:You have opened a project. You have opened an editor such as the graphical editor, the plot frame editor, etc. You have marked a graphical element and selected the popup menu item Properties, or you have double-clicked a graphical element.
In this dialog, you can edit the display properties of graphical elements like lines, circles, rectangles, etc.
You have opened a project. You have opened a project page in the graphical editor. You have marked a comment with graphic (rectangle, polygon) and selected the popup menu item Properties or double-clicked the graphic of a comment. You have switched to the Format tab.
In this dialog you edit the display properties of a comment with closed graphic (rectangle, polygon).
Overview of the main dialog elements:
Property / Assignment:
To this purpose the hierarchy levels <Graphical element> and Format are available. These can be opened by clicking the 
sign.
<Graphical element> hierarchy level
Here you determine specific settings for the graphical element such as, e.g., coordinate and length entries. Depending on the type of graphical element, one of the following hierarchy levels will be displayed here:
Format hierarchy level
Assign a layer to the graphical element. This way the display properties specified in the layer such as Line thickness, Color, Invisible, etc. are assigned to the element.
Choose the entry "Yes" from the drop-down list if the element is not supposed to be visible on the schematic page. It is still present in the project, however. In the user settings, you define whether or not invisible elements are to be displayed and / or printed (in a different color).
Select the desired line type from the drop-down list.
Notes:
- Most line types are only displayed correctly if you specify them via the selection of the corresponding layer in the Layer field. Some standard line types are excepted from this.
- There are certain line types which contain additional graphics. These line types are mainly intended for usage in P&I diagrams. If such a line type is determined for a graphical element consisting of arcs or curves, the line type is ignored and the line displayed as continuous line. Whether the line type has been determined directly in the Line type field or via the selected layer does not matter here. All other settings for the line (line thickness, color, etc.) are retained.
- Concerning the additional graphics (circles, crosses, etc.), fixed values are used. In case of substantial changes (e.g., to the pattern length or line thickness), this can cause these additional graphics to be no longer recognizable. In addition, double lines are only displayed as single lines in the case of very small line thicknesses.
This check box is only available for Lines. Select it, in order to specify a projection for the starting and end points (e.g. when drawing center lines). The projection is calculated according to DIN, on the basis of the line thickness and drawn with a length of "12 d" (where d = dashed line diameter (Line thickness)).
Note:
The line's snap points and dimensions are not changed by inserting a projection.
Only available for closed graphical elements (rectangles, polygons, etc.) and only for comments with closed graphic. In this drop-down list you specify how the closed graphical element is filled:
- No fill: No fill is displayed.
- Single-color fill: In the Single-color fill subordinate hierarchy level you can use an activation of the Deviating color display property and selection of a color in the associated Color display property to specify that the fill is displayed in a different color than the line.
- Fill pattern: Only available on P&I diagram pages. In the Fill pattern subordinate hierarchy level you can select a predefined fill pattern and carry out settings for it.
- Single-color fill with pattern: Only available on P&I diagram pages. Both subordinate hierarchy levels, Single-color fill and Fill pattern, are displayed. This way, you can set a fill color and a pattern at the same time.
"Fill pattern" subordinate hierarchy level
This hierarchy level is only available on P&I diagram pages for closed graphical elements (rectangles, polygons, etc.). To this purpose one of the options with pattern must be activated for the Fill display property.
Select a pattern for the fill here. To do so, click [...] in the Assignment column, and select one of the predefined patterns in the subsequent Pattern selection dialog. Using a search field, you can search for a specific pattern using the name and description.
With this drop-down list you can increase or decrease the pattern by a predefined percentage without changing the pattern itself. The line thickness of the pattern lines is not changed by this.
Select an angle here to rotate the pattern counter-clockwise relative to the X axis.
