Input Box

The input box offers you the option of entering values via the keypad for various functionalities in the Editors (Graphical Editor, 3D View etc.). If the input box is switched on, a small text window for the entry of numbers is shown at the cursor at these functionalities (for example when inserting a line). This window has a predefined transparency level that can be changed by you in the Settings.

Inputs in the input box

The text window of the input box consists of two header rows and the actual input box for the input. The respective action (for example starting point for line) is displayed in the first header row and the required input as comment text in the second row. The numbers entered via the keyboard are displayed in the input box.

The sequence of the values to be entered is specified for each functionality in the system. For example, two entries in the sequence "X and Y value of a coordinate" or "Angle and length" are possible for the line.
When entering points, the entry of two values separated by a blank is interpreted as X and Y values of coordinates (starting or end point). The entered values refer to the graphical coordinate system that has its origin at the bottom left and are evaluated in "mm" or "inch" in accordance with the set unit.

Note:

Note that only the first point entry uses absolute values, while the subsequent point entries use relative coordinates.

Decimal places are entered with the decimal separator "," or "." that is used in the operating system.

The inputs are transferred immediately to the functionality by pressing [Enter]; the input box is then emptied again. After the last entry or after the action is finished, the input box is closed.

Calling up other functionalities via the associated shortcut keys is not possible while carrying out entries in the open input box. [Esc] can be used to cancel the input in the input box.
