Cause

A piping with opposing flow directions was determined in a P&I diagram of the project for which the Piping-oriented connection logic check box is activated under Pre-planning > Diagram in the project settings.

The piping contains two direction-defining functions (for example pumps, compressors, fans or piping definition points) that point in opposite directions. This can occur, for example, when pipings are routed by means of interruption points over several project pages.

Solution

1. Locate the first affected function in the flow chart by using the Go to (graphic) functionality from the popup menu in the Message management dialog.
2. Locate the second affected function in the flow chart by using the Go to (2nd coordinate) functionality from the popup menu in the Message management dialog.
3. Decide for which function you want to change the direction.
4. Open the property dialog of the function.
5. Bring the Symbol / function data tab to the front.
6. Select a symbol variant that points in the desired direction.

Note:

If it is a piping definition point, change the direction by using the Piping: Exchange source and target property on the Piping definition tab.

7. Click Apply.
8. Close the property dialog.
9. If required, start a new check run.
