Cause

In your project, you have selected for a device a part that is designated as a discontinued part in parts management.

Solution

Possibility 1

1. Locate the device in the schematic by means of the Go to (graphic) functionality offered by the popup menu of the Message management dialog.
2. Open the Properties <...> dialog of the device and bring the Parts tab to the foreground.
3. Click the ... button in the Part number field.
   The Part selection dialog opens.
4. Select a part that is not identified as a discontinued part.
5. Click [OK].
   The part previously assigned to the device is replaced by the newly selected part.
6. If required, start a new check run.

Possibility 2

After this check run has been executed, the devices with discontinued parts that are no longer to be used are identified as faulty in the tree of the bill of materials navigator.

1. Filter the bill of materials navigator with the Check run messages available (ID 20930) filter criterion.
   Only parts marked as faulty are displayed.
2. Select the Exchange part popup menu item for the determined part.
   The Part selection dialog opens.
3. Select a part that is not identified as a discontinued part.

Tip:

If the part number of the existing replacement part is entered for a discontinued part in the parts management for the Replacement part: Number property, this replacement part is preset and can be selected directly.

4. Click [OK].
   The part previously assigned to the device is replaced by the newly selected part.
5. If required, start a new check run.
