P026060: A wire termination processing cannot be uniquely assigned to the routing connection

Cause

Possibility 1

In the connection point pattern of the source or target part of the connection, a wire termination processing was assigned to a connection point - but for a cross-section range (defined by means of the properties Min. cross-section, Max. cross-section or Min. AWG, Max. AWG) that does not include the cross-section of the routed connection or of the connection part.

Possibility 2

In the connection point pattern of the source or target part of the connection, several different wire termination processings were assigned to a connection point, with identical values for the properties Min. cross-section, Max. cross-section, Max. number of connections, Dual sleeve prescribed, Min. AWG, Max. AWG and Permissible conductor types.

Solution

Regarding option 1

Ensure that all cross-sections that are possible both for the connection point as well as for the permissible conductor type and the maximum number of connections are taken into consideration in the connection point pattern.

  1. Locate the part placement in the layout space using the Go to (graphic) function from the popup menu in the Message management dialog.
  2. Open the Properties dialog of the part placement.
  3. Bring the Part tab to the front, remember the part number assigned there, and close the property dialog.
  4. Call up the parts management (Tab Master data > Command group Parts > Management).
  5. In the tree view, go to the part identified and select it.
  6. Bring the Properties tab to the foreground and open the Data hierarchy level.
  7. Click in the Connection point pattern field and select the Go to command in the popup menu to access the assigned connection point pattern in the Connection point pattern hierarchy level of the parts management.
  8. Check the existing lines for each connection point. Correct the values for the Min. cross-section, Max. cross-section or Min. AWG, Max. AWG properties, or add new lines for cross-sections that require a different wire termination processing.

  9. Close the parts management and perform a parts data synchronization.

  10. Route the connections again.

Regarding option 2

The assignment of a wire termination processing must be unique for each connection point within a connection point pattern. We recommend that you create part variants with different connection point patterns in order to have more selection options for the wire termination processing.

  1. Locate the part placement in the layout space using the Go to (graphic) function from the popup menu in the Message management dialog.
  2. Open the Properties dialog of the part placement.
  3. Bring the Part tab to the front, remember the part number assigned there, and close the property dialog.
  4. Call up the parts management (Tab Master data > Command group Parts > Management).
  5. In the tree view, go to the part identified and select it.
  6. Bring the Properties tab to the foreground and open the Data hierarchy level.
  7. Click in the Connection point pattern field and select the Go to command in the popup menu to access the assigned connection point pattern in the Connection point pattern hierarchy level of the parts management.
  8. Duplicate the connection point pattern by means of the Copy and Paste commands of the popup menu.
  9. Bring the Connection points tab to the foreground in the original connection point pattern.
  10. Delete one or more lines so that each connection point is uniquely assigned to a wire termination processing.
  11. Bring the Connection points tab to the foreground in the copied connection point pattern.
  12. Delete one or more lines so that each connection point is uniquely assigned to a wire termination processing. This may be a different wire termination processing than in the original connection point pattern.
  13. If necessary, create further connection point patterns in order to assign alternative wire termination processings.
  14. In the tree view of the parts management, go to the identified part again and select it.
  15. Select the New variant command in the popup menu to create a part variant.
  16. Bring the Properties tab for the part variant to the foreground.
  17. Expand the Data hierarchy level and click [...] in the value field of the Connection point pattern property.

    The Connection point pattern selection dialog opens.
  18. Select one of the new connection point patterns and click OK.
  19. If necessary, create further part variants in order to assign further connection point patterns with alternative wire termination processing.

  20. Close the parts management and perform a parts data synchronization.

  21. If necessary, reassign the desired part variant.
  22. Route the connections again.
