Changed and Extended Part Properties

The following extensions have been realized for the part properties for this version:
- Further new properties for current requirements from technology and automation
- New "Global Asset ID" part property
- New "Replacement part: Replaced parts" part property
- Showing tags and favorites from the insert center at the parts
- "ERP / PDM numbers" part property without length limitation
- Free properties only available for viewing

Further new properties for current requirements from technology and automation

After numerous new properties have already been added to Version 2026 in the parts management, Version 2027 now makes more than 70 new properties available with which you can extend your parts data for current requirements from plant engineering, power engineering, building automation and process engineering. The properties can be divided into the following groups:

Additional electrical and functional properties, for example properties for inductance and capacitance such as Inductance (La), max. (ID 26735), Capacitance (Ca), max. (ID 26729), etc.
Properties for EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) requirements, such as CRA: Compliance (ID 26680)
Properties for explosion protection in accordance with the ATEX directives of the EU, for example ATEX II: Gas approval present (ID 26315)

Benefit:

Through the new part properties you extend your parts data specifically for current and future requirements in technology and automation - across all branches from plant engineering to process engineering. The properties allow a detailed, structured description of components and provide precise, up-to-date technical information at all times. This way, you increase planning reliability, reduce misinterpretations and sustainably improve the data quality in engineering.

In the course of the introduction of properties for the inductance two new unit groups have been added:

Inductance (H, mH, µH, nH)
Inductance per length (H/m)

These units / unit groups are available both as unit groups during the configuration of user-defined properties with the "Value with unit" field type and as display units in the Display or Format tab of the property dialog in the graphical editor.

New "Global Asset ID" part property

The new Global Asset ID (ID 26674) part property is now available in the General hierarchy level for parts in the Properties tab of the parts management. In this property, you can enter a Global Asset ID, for example a URL, that allows a unique connection to external systems. With this URL you can then, for example, retrieve the ECLASS data provided on an AAS server for a part.

The property is available to you for the configuration of the representation in the parts management (tree and list), as well as in filters. It can be displayed in property arrangements and forms and be exported and imported for the manufacturing or the synchronization of the parts data.

When copying a part, the values of this property are not copied as well (similar to the ERP / PDM number property), so that a unique ID can be assigned for each copy. If the value of the Global Asset ID is a hyperlink, you can open it by holding down the [Ctrl] key and clicking it.

Three new check runs are available in the message class 502 "Part master data" in order to check whether the Global Asset IDs are unique within the parts management or across all variants of a part or, in special cases, are identical for all variants of a part.

The check run 502048 checks whether values are assigned several times within the parts database for the Global Asset ID property.
The check run 502049 checks whether identical values are assigned for the Global Asset ID property in different part variants of a part.
The check run 502050 checks whether different values are assigned for the Global Asset ID property in the part variants of a part.

The check run 502050 is intended for the case that a part has several variants solely for technical reasons, for example in order to be able to provide different function templates for a part. In this case, the same Global Asset ID should be entered for all part variants. This allows a common data sheet to be called up.

The responsibility for consistency and uniqueness of the Global Asset IDs lies with the users as well as the connected manufacturers and systems.

New part property "Replacement part: Replaced parts"

The new part property Replacement part: Replaced parts (ID 22888) is now available to show at a part which other parts are replaced by this part. All part numbers for which this part was entered in the Replacement part: Number property as a replacement part are displayed in this property, separated by commas. The part numbers are only displayed and cannot be edited.

Showing tags and favorites from the insert center at the parts

Tags and favorites from the insert center that were defined there at the devices can now also be displayed at the parts in the parts management. To this purpose, the new properties Tags (ID 22891) and Favorite (ID 22892) are available in the Properties tab of the parts management.

In the parts management these properties are only used for display purposes and cannot be edited. The Tags property displays the tags that have been assigned to this part with comma separation. The Favorite property indicates by means of a check box whether the respective part is marked as a favorite. The assignment is made at the device in the insert center.

These properties can be used in the parts management as filter criteria and can be selected at the device for display in the graphical editor. Since the favorites are stored in a user-specific manner and the tags in a company-specific manner, they are not output in the parts management during the export in the EDZ / XML format and during the export for external editing.

"ERP / PDM numbers" part property without length limitation

In the past, only the first 64 characters were identifying at an entry for the ERP / PDM numbers part property. This limit has been removed. Now all entered characters are identifying for these properties.

Free properties only available for viewing

The free properties are only available for reasons of compatibility with previous Eplan versions and are now write-protected in the parts management. Editing of the free properties (for example in the Free properties dialog) or the assignment of free properties is no longer possible. We recommend using the user-defined properties for the entry and display of additional information in the parts management. The Migrate free properties dialog is available in the parts management to convert free properties into user-defined properties.

In the course of this change free properties can no longer be selected as the target of an ECLASS property during the ECLASS import in the Property assignment tab. If you import an ECLASS import scheme with the assignment to free properties from an old version, a system message is displayed.
During the import of parts data in the EDZ / XML format you now also receive a message if a part contains free properties.
