In the parts management it is now possible at a part to define a default for the macro variant in addition to the specification of the macro.
Benefit:
By specifying a preset macro variant directly at the part, the selection of a variant when inserting or placing devices is not required anymore in most cases. This reduces errors and accelerates the configuration considerably.
The default setting of the macro variant can be carried out directly during the file selection of a macro in the selection dialog. In addition, new properties for macro variants are available for the selection and display of the predefined macro variant.
When inserting or placing devices, the preset macro variant is automatically used and does not have to be selected anymore. [Tab] allows you for these actions to browse through the macro variants of a representation type despite the default setting.
New properties for preset macro variants
A new property for macro variants is available for the selection and display of the predefined macro variant for each macro property (for example Graphical macro: Preset variant, Schematic macro: Preset variant, etc.)
If a macro has several variants, you can also select a different variant via the drop-down list of these new properties.
Undefined macro variants
The new default value "Undefined" is available at the properties for macro variants. This value indicates that no selection has been made yet for the respective macro variant. "Undefined" is also displayed in the following cases:
- No macro file was selected.
- A macro file was already selected in an older Eplan version (before 2027).
- During the macro selection the "Undefined" option was selected for the variant.
Own hierarchy level in the tree for macros
All the part properties for macros have now been arranged in the separate hierarchy level of the Macros in the tree view of the Properties tab for the purpose of clarity. Each macro property with its macro variant property is grouped in its own subordinate hierarchy level. For example, the Schematic macro and Schematic macro: Preset variant properties are grouped together in the Schematic macro hierarchy level.
In the course of this extension the subsequent Property: Schematic macros for company standard dialog has been extended by the new Schematic macro: Preset variant for company standard column. If a macro for company standards disposes of several variants, you can also select a different variant via the drop-down list in the respective cell.
