In the case of bus ports you had to enter the data in the property dialog in the two tabs PLC connection point and Bus data in the past. In the process, properties that you do not require for bus ports were also displayed in the PLC connection point tab. As of this version all the data relevant for bus ports are displayed combined in the new Bus port tab and can be edited there. The Bus data tab has thus become superfluous and has been removed.
Benefit:
The new Bus port tab in the property dialog makes the editing of the data of bus ports easier and clearer. In the property dialog of bus ports all the relevant data are now displayed clearly on the first tab. Switching between different tabs when entering bus data is no longer required.
Tab Bus port
If you have opened the property dialog for a bus port, the new Bus port tab is displayed there as the first tab. The following fields for the entry of the most important bus data are available in the upper section of this tab:
- Displayed DT
- Full DT
- Physical network: Name
- Physical network: Bus ID / item number
- Plug designation
- Function text
- Bus system
- Bus interface: Name
Further properties are available in the Properties group box. The new entry "Bus data" is available in the drop-down list in the Category field in order to display only those properties that are important for bus ports in the list of properties.
Separate management of PLC connection points and bus ports
"Normal" PLC connection points and bus ports are now managed separately as different object types. This results in the following changes:
Change of the function category at PLC connection points
For PLC connection points it is possible to change the function category in the property dialog on the PLC connection point tab. This way you can, for example, change a PLC input rapidly into a PLC output. Only the function definitions relevant for "normal" PLC connection points are now offered for selection and no function definitions for network / bus cable connection points.
Upstream object selection when editing PLC connection points and bus ports together
If a selection in the graphical editor or in the PLC navigator contains both PLC connection points and bus ports, the preceding dialog Object selection is now displayed when the property dialog is called up. You must then decide whether you want to edit the PLC connection points or the bus ports. Then the respective property dialog is opened.
