Dialog 2D panel layout - <Project name>

In this dialog, the current data from the current project are read and displayed.

When the menu item is selected, or when switching projects, all part placements in the current project are read and displayed in the table. As in many other areas in the software, you can also choose between the following representation types:

List: The list view is DT oriented; i.e., the item data is displayed in a list oriented around the DT. Please note that you can select via the Configure representation popup menu item at any time in order to specify which information should be displayed in the list (for example, part number, DT, number of units, etc.). Here you can display the Number of units / quantity (unplaced) property, for example, to maintain a current overview of used / unused parts.
Tree: In contrast to the list view, the tree view is placement oriented, i.e., the uppermost hierarchy level shows the part status (All parts, <Mounting panel>, Incorrectly placed, etc.). Here, the All parts hierarchy level shows all parts, with the part status being illustrated by means of an icon: A green checkmark in front of a part number indicates that this part is already placed. A green check mark in front of a device tag means that all parts of the device have been placed. Devices that are placed on the mounting panel, but not included in the schematic project, are identified by the icon.
Here again you can configure the display by using the popup menu View, and selecting a configuration from the subsequent menu.
To make the tree view even clearer, all parts in connections are automatically and permanently filtered from the view. These parts are not required for panel layout.

If you have activated the graphical preview (Tab Home > Command group Graphical preview > Open), either the preview of the macro that is entered at a part, or the stored dimensions in the form of a rectangle can be displayed in both representation types as soon as a part is marked.

Filter:

This drop-down list displays all the available filters. A selected filter is automatically activated and is applied to both the tree and the list view. The "- Not activated -" entry deactivates the filter and causes an unfiltered display of the data. Click [...] to open the Filter dialog. Here you can create, edit, delete, copy, export, import, and manage filters.

The popup menu of the Filter drop-down list contains the following entries:

Deactivate: This popup menu item is available if a filter has been set: Resets the filter setting to the "- Not activated -" entry.
Activate <filter name>: This popup menu item is available if the filter setting is "- Not activated -": Reactivates the last active filter.

This allows you to toggle rapidly between the unfiltered representation and a representation filtered in accordance with your requirements.

Note:

Note that in the panel layout navigator you cannot filter by parts data, only by Part reference data. For example, if you filter by the Mounting surface property (ID 22022), then the filter accesses the corresponding property of the part reference data (ID 20918). However, this property can differ from the part property (ID 22022), since the mounting surface of the master data part and the part stored does not have to be identical to the mounting surface of the part reference.

<Quick input>:

Use this field, via Quick input, to adjust quickly the value of a filter criterion for a defined and activated filter. Multiple quick inputs are possible. A separate row is displayed for every filter criterion. Enter a value for the filter criterion in the respective cell next to the displayed property.

Popup menu:

Menu item	Meaning
Select all (list only)	Selects all entries in the panel layout.
Adjust column width (list only)	Adjusts the width of all table columns so that both the headings and column contents are fully legible.
New device	Opens the Part selection dialog for selecting parts and placing them on the mounting panel.
Locked area	Allows a locked area to be drawn on the mounting panel.
Delete	This menu item is available only if a part placement exists for the function / part. Deletes the selected part placements after a confirmation warning. The parts and functions are preserved.
Place on mounting panel	Allows placing of non-placed parts on the mounting panel.
Place on mounting rail	Allows unplaced parts to be set down on the mounting rail.
Update main elements	Allows the removal of all part references to the main function, which are then replaced by the part references contained in the part placements, with identification occurring through the device tags.
Update part dimensions	Allows the current part dimensions to be transferred to the part placements.
Edit legend item	Allows the legend items to be renumbered.
Edit revision marker	This menu item allows you to edit the revision marker texts and their format. This menu item is only available when a changed object in a revision is selected.
Delete revision marker	This menu item allows you to delete the revision marker texts. This menu item is only available when a changed object in a revision is selected.
Go to (graphic)	Opens a graphical preview of the page selected in the tree or list and optically highlights the selected item.
Insert into list of search results	Transfers the item selected in the tree or in the list into the list of the search results which can be shown via the following commands: Tab Home > Command group Find > Show results.
Settings	Opens the Settings: 2D panel layout dialog in which you can define a number of settings relating to the equipment.
Configure representation	Opens the Configure representation dialog, where you define which properties are to be displayed in the list and tree view.
View (tree only)	Opens a subsequent menu containing the current default settings for the tree view: Identifier-based: If a device has several parts, these are not arranged in alphabetical order in the tree below the device tag, but rather in the order in which they occur in the property dialog on the Parts tab. Terminals and strip accessories, on the other hand, are displayed in the order that they appear in the Edit terminal strip dialog. Macro-based: Parts are displayed under a macro node when a graphical macro has been stored in their parts data. Otherwise they are displayed outside the macro node.
Properties	Opens the Properties (components): <...> dialog. Allows the editing of the function properties.
Properties (global)	Opens the Properties (global): <...> dialog. Allows the editing of the device properties.
