Dialog Import connection data

In this dialog, you execute the import of data from external programs (other CAE systems, ERP systems, Excel, etc.) into an Eplan project in order to create a complete panel layout including routing connections on the basis of such data. Wiring lists with the file extensions TXT and CSV as well as text files with the file extension ASC are imported.

Type of data source:

The following file types are available from the drop-down list:

Text (*.txt, comma-delimited Unicode file (*.csv), ASCII file (*.asc))
Excel (*.xlsx, *.xlsm).

Data source:

This field displays the file name of the wiring lists to be imported.

Field assignment:

Here you select the import scheme for the data to be imported. A scheme by the name "Default" has been predefined. Click [...] to open the Field assignment dialog. This dialog allows the assignment of an external data field from the data source to an Eplan property.

Designation for 'internal':

Designation text assigned at the import to the Internal property of terminals (default: "Internal") that specifies that the wire connection is to be carried out on the internal side of the terminal.

Designation for 'external':

Designation text assigned at the import to the External property of terminals (default: "External") that specifies that the wire connection is to be carried out on the external side of the terminal.

Popup menu:

The popup menu provides - depending on the field type (e.g. date, integer, multilingual) - the following menu items that are, depending on the situation, available for influencing the table or editing the values in the fields.
