Defining the Plot Frame and Path Numbering

The settings for the default plot frame and the path, device and PLC numbering are adopted from the selected basic project when a project is created. If you do not want to use the settings from the basic project, you can adjust them as desired.

Precondition:

You have opened a project.

Define standard plot frame

Select the following commands: File > Settings > Projects > "Project name" > Management > Pages.
In the dialog Settings: Pages select "Browse" from the Standard plot frame drop-down list.
In the Select plot frame dialog, switch to the directory PlotFrames\EPLAN.
Select a file.
Click [Open].

Note:

The selected plot frame has no effect on the path numbering.

Define path numbering

Select the following commands: File > Settings > Projects > "Project name" > Management > Pages.
Select one of the options available in the Path numbering group box in the dialog Settings: Pages.
To apply a changed setting for the path numbering in a project, you have to do this manually after closing this dialog by using the Update path designations command. (To this purpose you first have to Customize the ribbon and then assign the desired command to a user-defined command group.)

Select the format for device numbering

Select the following commands: File > Settings > Projects > "Project name" > Devices > Numbering (online).
Select a format in the Numbering format field of the dialog Settings: Numbering (online).
To create or customize a format, click [...].

You can Create a numbering format in the dialog Numbering formats.
Click [OK].

Select format for PLC numbering

Select the following commands: File > Settings > Projects > "Project name" > Devices > PLC.
Select a scheme from the drop-down list in the PLC-specific settings field of the dialog Settings: PLC.
To create or customize a scheme, click [...].

You can define the PLC-specific settings for the numbering in the dialog Settings: PLC-specific .
Click [OK].
