This group of commands serves for the control and basic adjusting of existing 2D objects within the 2D working window.
Pointer
This is a multi-functional command. It serves for the purposes described below.
- Object selection: When the pointer is active, you can select objects for further actions.
With the [Ctrl] key pressed down you can make a selection of several objects
at once. You can also select multiple objects by dragging the mouse cursor
with pressed-down left-hand mouse button over the objects to be selected; the objects displayed within a rectangular frame will then be selected.
Note:
When selecting objects in the navigation panel, you can also use the [Shift] key for multiple selection; in this case, all objects in between the clicked ones will be selected.
- Object moving: When the pointer is active, you can move a selected object within the working
window. Just hold down the left-hand mouse button and drag the object to another position with the mouse.
Objects can also be moved by pressing and holding down the up, down, left, and right arrow buttons on the keyboard. - Object handler modification: It is also possible to modify existing objects with the pointer.
The object to be modified must first be selected. Then highlight the desired
handler of the object (the Highlight button must be enabled) by moving the mouse cursor over it. Drag the handler with the left-hand mouse button pressed down to modify the object.
Note:
The type of modification depends on the object type.
- Termination of running commands: If you select the pointer, the command which is currently being processed will be terminated.
Move
This command makes it possible to move objects within the working window via mouse. When active, select the desired object (or multi-select objects using the left-hand mouse button in combination with the [Ctrl] key); the handlers are displayed. The following actions are possible now:
- Move the object freely.
- Pull the handler to move the object along the corresponding axis.
- Click the arrow buttons in the command panel to move the object into the corresponding direction.
- Specify the X and Y coordinate values in the command panel.
Rotate
This command makes it possible to rotate objects within the working window via mouse. When active, select the desired object (or multi-select objects using the left-hand mouse button in combination with the [Ctrl] key); the rotation handler is displayed. The following actions are possible now:
- Pull the handler to rotate the object along its axis.
- Click the buttons in the command panel to rotate the object clockwise or counter-clockwise.
- Specify the angle of rotation in the command panel and click [OK] to rotate the object by the specified angle.
Scale
This command makes it possible to increase / decrease the object size with no impact on the object's proportions. Usage is similar to the Move and Rotate commands. The scale handler is displayed for the selected object. You can then determine its scale with the mouse.
