Environment elements are those which are available in the nailboard / cable drawing environment by default. These elements cannot be added or removed and are selectable via the navigation panel only (below the Environment node in the Tree view panel).

Global grid: A global grid is a 2D object which exists automatically in each nailboard / cable drawing environment (although it is invisible by default). The grid can help you to orientate yourself better in the working window. It can also help / force the user to snap the key points of the currently created or modified object to the grid crossings.
Display (shown / hidden) and behavior (snap on / off) of the global grid depend on the selected drawing option of the global grid. - Local grid: The local grid is displayed only when the Move wire harness segments command is active. By setting its Segment property (in the General section of the properties panel) you can affect the interval of the moving steps of the wire harness segments.
- Local grid (gap): The local grid is displayed only when the Shrink bundle or cable command for shortening bundles / cables is launched. The local gaps grid allows to define default values for the grid distance and grid segmentation.
Note:
For nailboards, all three Global grid, Local grid, and Local grid (gap) functionalities are available. For cable drawings, only the Global grid function is available.
