Creating Rectangles

A rectangle is a parallelogram with four right angles. To create a rectangle, you can use the mouse and the keyboard. Both techniques can be combined.

Using the mouse

  1. Click the Rectangle button on the toolbar.
  2. Determine the first point by clicking on the desired location in the 2D working window.
  3. Determine the second point which will define the rectangle's width.
  4. Determine the last point which will define the rectangle's height (the fourth point, along with the lines, will be completed automatically).
  5. Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Rectangle button again, if desired.

Using the command bar

  1. Click the Rectangle button on the toolbar.
  2. Determine the X and Y coordinates of the first point in the command bar and confirm with [OK].
  3. Determine the next point (first segment of the rectangle) in the same way or switch to the Distance command in the command bar and determine the Length and Angle values of the segment.
  4. Create the last segment by defining its length and confirm with [OK].
  5. Repeat the command by using the space bar or clicking the Rectangle button again, if desired.
