The following plot frame properties are available in the Print section of the properties panel:

Property

Description

Printer

Drop-down list for printer selection.

Printer properties

Clicking this button opens the Printer properties dialog.

Note:

This dialog window is dependant on the particular driver a printer is using. It may look different for different printers.

Landscape / Portrait

Determines Landscape or Portrait format.

Paper size

Drop-down list for paper size selection available for the selected printer. Available paper sizes depend on the selected printer. If a user-defined paper size has been created for the printer, it is also available here.

Plot frame > [Print]

Directly prints out the nailboard / cable drawing.

Paper size and landscape / portrait orientation are transferred to the Printer properties dialog and vice versa. If you determine paper size and orientation in the Printer properties dialog, these properties are transferred back to Harness ProD and to the plot frame. All the properties set in the Printer properties dialog, even though they may not be available in the plot frame, are saved to the plot frame.

Not all printers support an arbitrary user-defined paper size, therefore it must be defined in the Printer properties dialog. If the paper size defined in the plot frame is not found in the selected printer, a message that the paper size is not supported by the printer is displayed.

The best practice to define user-defined paper sizes is to define them in the Printer properties dialog. If the user-defined paper size is created and saved in this dialog, it is always available in the Paper size menu of the plot frame for the selected printer.

If the nailboard / cable drawing contains multiple plot frames, each plot frame can have assigned different printers, paper sizes, orientations, etc.

Tip:

Settings chosen in the property panel of a plot frame are saved only for that particular plot frame.

For easy reusability of a particular print setting it is recommended that you create a custom printing form / template (either in the Printer properties dialog or by navigating to the printer's properties in the Windows control panel) which can then be easily applied to multiple plot frames by selecting it from the Paper size drop-down list.

  1. Select the File > Print menu items.

The nailboard / cable drawing is printed.
  2. Or select a plot frame in the tree view. In the Print dialog make sure the correct paper size and other properties are specified to suit your needs.
  3. Click the Print button in the properties panel.

The nailboard / cable drawing is printed.
